Our Experience at Creative Arts Day
The City of Fontana hosted a Creative Arts Day for students interested in pursuing a creative career. Journalism, yearbook, and digital photography students from a local high school had the opportunity to experience hands on work in content creation and podcasting. Hueman Studio was asked to host the content creation session and guide the student teams through a content creation exercise.
The students were tasked with creating whatever photo, video, or mixed media content they wanted to create for a campaign around the City of Fontana’s merchandise. Potential products included branded dress shirts, water bottles, phone chargers, notebooks, tote bags, pens, and more. After going through a quick presentation giving examples of potential outcomes, questions on considering an audience, and presentation tips, the students got to work ideating, creating, and editing. Our team acted as floaters, assisting the students with the technical execution of their creative work and keeping track of time.
The passion and creativity of the students was amazing to see. Right off the bat, the students put their thinking caps on and had a plethora of great ideas. It was a challenge, but they managed to work within the short time range to execute a final campaign. The results included trendy videos à la “day in the life", high quality product photography, and campaigns focused on mental health and unity.
